Clinics & Services

Influenza Injections

These are available from September onwards. Appointments can normally be made from the beginning of September.

Family Planning Clinic

All the clinicians provide contraceptive advise and services. This is usually within the normal surgeries for confidentiality and convenience. Coil and implant fittings are carried out by pre-arrangement in set clinics.

baby_tummy Antenatal Services

Patients are seen by a midwife at the clinics by appointment. A GP will also be available.

Midwives and health visitors will also visit patients at home.

Child Health Surveillance Clinic

This involves regular assessment of children up to five years old by the health visitors.

Well Woman Clinics

These clinics are run on most days by the practice nurses for smears and discussion of women's health issues.

Asthma Clinic

This is run by a practice nurse in conjunction with a GP by appointment only.

Diabetic Clinic

This is run by a advanced nurse practitioner in conjunction with Dr Soman, by appointment only.

glucose_testCOPD Clinic

A specialist clinic run by a nurse to help patients with Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease. Appointments can be made at reception.

Minor Surgery

We have two GPs who carry out minor surgical procedures at Friarwood Surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.

Travel Immunisation/Vaccinations

Advice and immunisation may be necessary if you are travelling outside North Europe or North America. 

Vaccines available free on the NHS will remain free of charge. Non NHS vaccines will be charged privately.  We ask that you give at least 6 weeks notice of any travel requirements. Short notice requirements may not be available and therefore you may have to source your vaccines through other services.
